How Much Does StruXure Pergola Cost?

A StruXure pergola costs from $190 to $250 per square foot, installed. The price will depend on the model you choose as well as the size and complexity of your project.

StruXure offers a variety of pergola models, each with its own unique features and price point. The cost of your pergola will also depend on the size and complexity of your project. To get an accurate estimate for your pergola, we recommend contacting a StruXure dealer in your area.

StruXure has two main product lines, each with a variety of variations. Pergola X, their most popular pergola line, is the most popular. The StruXure team has recently introduced Cabana X, a line of cabana products.

Additionally, the company recently unveiled TraX, a new tracking system that allows for more custom lighting and accessory customization.

Before we get into the price, let’s define what a “smart pergola” is. A pergola is “a structure usually consisting of parallel colonnades supporting an open roof of girders and cross rafters,” according to Merriam-Webster.

Pergolas have been used to provide shade for those enjoying an outdoor garden or a space between two buildings for centuries. A pergola, which was originally made of stone or bricks and later of wood, could accommodate climbing plants that would intertwine through the roof slats to create an ethereal effect and a little more protection if the owner desired.

Apart from the botanical embellishments, these shade structures took a long time to develop. Different construction materials have been tested, designs have been fine-tuned, and, with the advent of technology, a new smart pergola has emerged. What distinguishes it as a smart pergola?

The smart pergola’s ability to operate on its own or with voice or digital commands to change the angle of the louvers, activate additional lights, fans, or screens, or even detect weather changes so it can open and close on its own.

Cost Variables Louvered Pergola

Most DIY pergola kits and big box store pergolas today are made of wood. That’s because the wood was relatively cheap and easy to come by (at least until the 2020 pandemic).

Four posts support four beams that support a number of slats in the design of these pergolas. However, the slats do not move. Depending on quality and size, these wood products can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to several thousand dollars. However, there is a hidden cost to wood pergolas: the upkeep that wood necessitates.

The cost of an aluminum pergola is determined by its size and optional features such as fans and screens. For a company like StruXure, where every pergola is a custom order, estimating the cost of their pergola systems without taking actual measurements and having a thorough conversation with the owner about add-ons like lights, fans, and screens is nearly impossible.

From Regular Pergola to Smart Pergola

What can be explained is how the pergola is becoming more intelligent. Metal has begun to replace wood in the world of pergolas as durable, lighter-weight metal—specifically, aluminum—has become more readily available and cost-effective.

Why not experiment with other modifications if you can change the material of an ancient design? This is how pivoting louvers were invented. Metal louvers are less heavy than wood louvers, making them easier to pivot. Aluminum also works better with technology than wood, leading to even more innovations like interlocking louvers and gutter systems.

Finally, three factors have contributed to the transformation of the traditional pergola into a smart pergola:

1) the addition of a motor that can be controlled by a handheld device and linked to other advanced technology

2) design and materials that allow the louvers to easily pivot

3) superior design, such as the hidden inner workings that elevate a louvered roof structure into a bona fide smart pergola.

Pergola X

Pergola X was the company’s first product line and is still it’s most popular. This line includes four different pergola designs. The Pivot 6, as well as the Pivot 6 XL, Pivot 6 Slide, and Pan 6, are among their most popular models.

StruXure’s most popular design, the Pivot 6, features their classic smart roof technology in a size that fits most residential homes. The Pivot 6 XL is available for those who want something bigger. The Pivot 6 Slide’s roof not only has adjustable slates but also slides open and closed, similar to a car’s sunroof.

Finally, the Pan 6 allows homeowners to buy a pergola with only isolated automatic sections of the roof. The signature louvered slating can be found in some areas of this model. Some, however, have pans inlaid to provide constant shade and shelter.

The Pergola X is the modern-day pergola that has the technology to open, close, pivot, and slide depending on your needs.

The Pergola X comes in 4 models:

•  Pivot 6
•  Pivot 6 XL
•  Pivot 6 Slide
•  Pan 6

Cabana X

The Cabana X is for those who want to take the concept of indoor/outdoor living to the next level. This structure creates a cabana-style room using the same technology as the Pergola X. The Cabana X’s walls are reinforced by smart data technology and adjustable sensors.

This gives homeowners the option of adding more shelter, privacy, control, and a luxurious feel to their space. The Cabana X comes in two versions: the Core, which is more basic, and the Tech, which is more advanced. Additional technology such as controllable LED lights, weather-sensing settings, and more is available to users.

Is StruXure waterproof?

Yes, StruXure is waterproof. StruXure uses a proprietary waterproofing technology that makes our products impervious to water, snow, and ice.

The unique profile of StruXure louvers allows them to interlock when closed, creating large rain channels where rainwater can flow freely into the pergola system’s 360-degree integrated gutter system. This system effectively drains water away from the structure, keeping you dry and comfortable while you enjoy your outdoor space.

In addition, all of the StruXure components are made from powder-coated aluminum, which is extremely resistant to corrosion. This means that our products can withstand even the harshest weather conditions without losing their beauty or functionality.

So whether you’re looking for a pergola to use as an outdoor dining area, a poolside retreat, or simply a place to enjoy your garden, StruXure has you covered.

What is StruXure Material?

StruXure material is a type of aluminum that is rust-free and lightweight yet durable. It comes in a range of colors, including white, brown, black, and eggshell.

The material can also be powder-coated to match your home’s trim or any other custom color. The aluminum slats are connected with patented hinges that allow the cover to adjust to the angle of the sun, providing protection from harmful UV rays.

StruXure material is also available in a clear version that allows diffused sunlight to filter through while still providing protection from the elements. The clear version is ideal for shading gardens or outdoor living spaces.

What Are StruXure Pergolas Made Of?

Unlike traditional pergola designs, StruXure Pergola is built from sturdy aluminum, which makes it strong enough to withstand rain and wind while requiring nearly no maintenance.

Additionally, because of its sleek design, a StruXure Pergola can be placed almost anywhere in your yard without disrupting the flow or look of your landscaping.

StruXure Pergolas are also available in a variety of colors and styles to perfectly match the aesthetic of your home. Whether you’re looking for a classic woodgrain finish or a more modern color, StruXure has you covered. You can even choose between clear or tinted roof panels to let in as much (or as little) sunlight as you’d like.

Do Pergolas Increase Home Value?

Yes, a pergola will add market value to any house. Because pergolas are such a desirable backyard addition, they recoup a large percentage of their cost when the home is sold.

In fact, according to Remodeling Magazine’s 2019 Cost vs. Value report, a mid-range wooden pergola costs about $3,600 and has an estimated resale value of $6,470 – that’s a 97% return on investment! Not too shabby.

If you’re looking for an even higher return on your pergola investment, consider building one yourself. A do-it-yourself pergola kit can cost as little as $1,000 but will still add substantial value to your home. Whichever route you choose, adding a pergola to your backyard is a smart investment that will pay off for years to come.

Conclusion

If you’re in the market for a pergola, be sure to check out StruXure. They offer high-quality products at an affordable price from $190 to $250 per square foot, installed. You won’t regret investing in one of their products!

Good morning. I just read the above article regarding the cost of installing a StruXure pergola. I thought the review was very helpful. I did want to mention that the data provided on install costs is not accurate. I would be interested in knowing what the basis (size, model, options) was for arriving at those costs ($60-$65 per square foot). I have them to be much higher than that. Thank you.

I agree with a previous comment concerning cost ….. I was quoted $40,000 for a 13’x13’10” area …. about $220 a sq ft installed! ridiculous.
